18mph aint recovery ride pace, that's normal pace even if you can do long rides averaging like 20+.

For someone that doesn't ussually do more than 20-30 miles in a ride, and tests at an average of 24 mph+ for 25 mins, it is.

If you say so.......

Put it this way, I was only ushing it on the hills, but I have to get myself over them otherwise I stall and completely loose my headway. On the flat, and there was a lot of it which helped a lot, I wasn't even pushing it, just letting my legs twindle round, and I stopped pedaling once I got up to 22 mph, it was, for me, a very very easy ride.

A slow, wet 198km ( I miss converted miles to km :o). Edinburgh to Lennoxtown (via California ) and over the Crow Road to Stirling, Dunfermline and back to Edinburgh. One idiot unfortunately sticks in my mind on the back road around Kilsyth, I went to turn right on a reasonably wide road (I can't remember if there was a right turn pocket) a car undertakes me which is OK, plenty of room. I then looked once more before making the turn, to see the next car overtaking me with the driver smirking.

86 miles that incorporated an Audax and a ride to Leeds station to catch a train to the starting point. A short round trip from the start to see a friend in Darlington., 100km of Audax route between Darlington and Wetherby taking in Northallerton, Thirsk, Easingwold and York then a ride from Wetherby back to home.

yes ......mmm i think thats a bit light really Vernon. I think you should think about upping your mileage a bit .

I've just re-read what I'd written and it lokis like I did two Audaxes in the day....nope..only did one....it was my sloppy writing that gave the impression.

I could, in theory, do two Audaxes with the extra miles nailed on but I'm too lazy.

I was quite happy with an Audax on Saturday and one on Sunday. Plus the extra 23 miles done on Saturday.

last friday on the way home, get cut up by a driver won't saw me but basically couldn't drive, he quickly went to turn right, i caught up and told him what i thought of my driving. he then quickly followed me. but what is a car to do when a cyclist can bomb it through traffic lights and sneak into a small lane without you noticing. hehehe.

Very warm.... taking out the Bob Jackson I built a few months back and checking reliability - only did 40Km decided that was enough. Bike rides beautifully, a few more 50K ish rides then a few 100k rides and I'll be convinced Ive built it up ok xx(

What's your definition of a recovery ride?

A ride just to get the legs moving again after a race, just to stop them from blowing up the next time I give it some stick. basically, it is a ride in which I do not force my legs to go round, I just let them do what they want to do.
