Quick local blast on the Dolan CX bike today, mixture of road, very muddy woodland and stunning cliff top coastal paths. About 22 miles in total.

she was probably a member of the local elite triathlon club :biggrin: you've let us all down Virgo. Next time you'd better catch her up as we all want a picture ;)

I'll take my Box Brownie next time! Appearances can be deceptive and although I am well and truly old enough to know that, the fact remains, I was beaten by a chubby girl on an old bike. (Hangs head in shame)

How is your mileage coming along ? tried any road routes yet ? I expect there should be some charity rides round your neck of the woods like heart foundation or cancer or other charity rides. Great social rides with a worthwhile cause as well.

Yes back yesterday, bike out again today. Did a short, but very hilly route today, great to be back out again.

tomorrow I have a 22 miler planned, but all on track, no roads, still no confidence on the roads, unless I am with the guys from here, that was a good one:biggrin:

Doing a charity ride soon with some friends. My pal had a baby who was sick when he was born on 2nd August this year, so we are raising funds for the hospital ward he was in. What have I let myself in for

Anyway nice to be back in the saddle again

A quick 10 mile hilly TT blast today. I've lacked motivation to get out on the bike lately. i knew if I didn't promise myself a short ride I'd find an excuse not to go out. Soo I did a hilly fast 10 to try to assuage my guilt. No idea of time cos although I have a wireless computer I still haven't got a sensor and mount because of the bluddy postal strike .!
Thanks a lot posties[/quote]
Well done Peanut, have you decided what your cutting off yet:biggrin:

A very wet club run, my mate was leading the 9.50 group so I stayed back with him; the weather then turned very nice but windy. I then had to pop to Glasgow to pick up my Kinesis. On the train back I wanted to get of in Croy but the train never stopped there :-( so my first opportunity to get off was Falkirk High only 26.5 miles so after tea I went out for another 25 miles before it got dark.

Woken at 5.30am by newborn daughter so decided to grab some breakfast and a coffee and head out at 6am.

Did a 40 mile loop around Barling - Rochford - Hockley - Canewdon - Stambridge - Southend - Westcliff - Chalkwell at 17mph average taking in rolling countryside and the coast. Seemed to be a bit windy than normal. Saw plenty of cyclists back in Southend along the seafront and thoroughly enjoyed my early morning loop. Especially as had my Allez serviced yesterday and my gears have been realigned so I actually used the smaller gears on ascents(!)

However, got home and faced the wrath of SWBO as she thought I was only going to be out for an hour rather than over 2! But I just had my head down and enjoyed the ride that I wanted to hit the 40 mile counter on my computer as I missed out on a ride yesterday....plenty of good work needs to be down by yours truly, wish me luck.....

My best ever club ride,

73mls of North Devon countryside, couple of big hills but after 40mls the average was 22mph, dropped to 20.2mph by the time we got home.

Haven't been out for a while, a nice 14 miler with a few little hills and a cracking day to boot. Just had a bit of a niggle in the back of my left knee which seemed to have something to do with the pain in the sole of my left foot. Anyway, enjoyed it, the ride I mean.
