I am out in Majorca, staying in Port Soller. It is hot, very hot. I have rented quite a nice bike for the weekend, an Argon 18 - full carbon frame with Ultegra SL fitted. The problem with Port Soller as opposed to Port Pollenca is that there are no flat roads around here. As soon as you leave the Soller/ Port Soller area, you hit a hill with 6-10% gradient for the next 10-14 km. I managed 100km today and am goosed. It was seriously hard cycling. Just up or down - constant.
I take it your shoulder is holding up, enjoy

Just a small rant. Some great weather and stuff out there but I wish people would not drink and drive. I had some idiot pull out rather amateurishly and then drive straight towards me and past on the same side of the road. No attempt at steering out of my way, me in the extreme gutter dodging, infact it took them a hundred odd yards to get on the correct side of the road.

Well you certainly didn't miss much on the club run today. The haar was really thick again this morning, so I took the sirrus, with lights  and a fluro gilet (double  Fortunately I didn't really need the lights but it stayed overcast most of the way. Then as we were coming back the mist turned into rain I was pretty wet when I got home and was glad I had the Sirrus and was wearing the waterproof gilet.

Sorry, mate but in my defence, I was too pissed to walk so I took the car instead. No hard feelings, eh?

Yesteday took the day off work to cycle NCN route 21 from Greenwich to East Grinstead with a few peeps from YACF. 80 Miles for the day. Saw a Kestrel in the Waterlink Way in Lower Sydenham and some excellent grafitti on the Worth Way.."Tommy Jackson has no foreskin"....
Today 30 mile pootle on my own from home to Croydon, then Bromley, Orpington and back home. The Biggin Hill airshow is on the weekend so saw the Red Arrows doing thier thing followed by a Lancaster flanked by a Spitfire and a Hurricane.

70 miles very hot, windy along the coast less so in land. Got 2 punctures!!!...and my front brakes are all out of alignment...had better rides tbh, well still a reasonable mileage for me.

Out at 7am for 53 miles solo riding. Took in Richmond Park... twice during the ride. Lovely weather for it and the pics show that London is not all concrete

Does the TPT go right into Manchester and also is it suitable for road bikes?

No it doesn't, (Didsbury/Stockport) is about as close as it gets, and road bikes - you could if you didn't care about the bike. Mainly hard core type sandy stuff, but you get some rocky sections - do not really passable for a road bike...

It's certainly no MTB trail like we have out near Mellor - my eight year old was fine on it..... TBH it's OK on a hybrid - if you want to go off route, and you have an MTB you can.... PS it's fairly gritty, I had to blast the chains and mechs out with the hose.....

Despite living in the area for so many years, it's the first time I've bothered with the local trail - it's so nice, well away from traffic, and it trundles through all the un-built areas... my son was really impressed.... "if you don't ride a bike, you really miss out on things like this" was his comment.
