Probably time to try some B races. Don't think I'll ever upgrade by doing c races.

Have enjoyed working on my sprint power though!

yeah, most of that was a z2 workout 😛

I had a proper workout fail today: I tried 20x (60s@130%, 120s@50%), which had been recommended as a race-readying prescription, twice a week, by a coach I respect. I got as far as the third interval before I had serious doubts… and I bailed just after the twelfth.

Just ridden the Scannellatouri Seriali event on the Greater London Loop.
Good race with all categories starting together.
The race was also shown live on their YouTube channel with good coverage of all competitors.
Managed a PB up Box Hill & even caught a couple of riders whilst aero tucking down the other side... :okay:

Next week in their series they tackle the Beach Island Loop.

Racing at the pointy end seem quite competitive so could be a good workout for any CC'ers looking for a pre ZRL race.

1 min @ 130% is tough. If not used to them, try either 30,40 seconds at same intensity. Once you've adjusted to this move upto 50secs.

Trainer road says once you can't do the full interval or drop to 110%, stop. You're not getting the required stimulation

2 minutes recovery after each effort ?!? That’s loads 😁

Yeah, that's what I thought - especially compared with other workouts like

It wasn't so much that my heart was still thudding and I was out of breath, but more that my legs felt like they were on fire...

Looks tough, it's the limited recovery that kills you.

For a while now my coach has had me doing 8 x 1 min @170% FTP with 5 min recoveries also as race prep. I hated them when I started (and that was 6 rather than 8) but have got more used to them and they are definitely improving my "repeatability".

Sounds like good training for a TTT

Been watching it on TV each day - it's been a great race so far hasn't it? And some really big hitters too. Ethan Hayter looks the real deal.

I wish it had come a bit nearer to us this year and I'd have gone to watch too. A few years ago it came through Cheddar (up the gorge obviously) and basically past my work twice - really enjoyed that!
