We went to Warwick Castle with my brother’s family and when Jo was pregnant with Andrew, mostly off the back of Tesco Clubcard points 👍

I was planning to do a bit of a DIY job on my fan with a dimmer switch this weekend but someone put a promo code in this thread for a snazzy fan so I bought that instead:

£80 with the discount code so about £50 more than doing a DIY job for an hour (call it two including trip to shops to get stuff), but I can now spend that hour on the turbo. And it’s my birthday Saturday

In other news - I raced in a C cat race today and came third on the road (probs higher on ZP). I’m in a funny place where riding in C Cat I can call the shots, choose where to attack and remain aware of my surroundings to get a good result. But in a B Cat race I get smashed to bits and I’m at max HR after 5km

I don't want to hear a word about the size of the field, a win's a win :okay:

I think it sounds like that classic situation where you really need to enter B races and then the extra effort you’re putting in will elevate your fitness level. If you stay in C it’ll probably be harder to reach the same level. ‘Fake it until you make it’ basically! (You’re welcome )

Yeah I agree. The Tuesday night races in B are tough but I am improving.

The C races are a nice reminder that it’s not all doom and gloom though and big picture I’m still in a good place health/fitness/performance wise 🙂

The only thing with these directed fans like the wahoo is they have a very narrow zone of cooling. Not an issue if you have a permanent set up and you can get it just right. But if you are constantly setting up bike and fan each time you ride it can be a pain. Get it a little bit wrong and you just won’t get the benefit. More of an issue apparently with this fan than the wahoo coz it’s range of effect is narrower and shorter. Just something to be aware of.
