Not that we need this yet as obviously there's only been one stage so far, but I thought I'd do the spreadsheet anyway. At the very least it makes the gaps to the next rider clear and you can also see the time that anyone missing yesterday's stage will have been given.

I've put everyone's names down as what they appeared as on the Zwift results (minus any appended team names), but if anyone would prefer to be listed under their forum name / real name / other nickname instead, then please let me know.
Carl I'm coming for you

It's not so much the distance that I'm aiming for here, but getting a decent amount of riding time. There's no point in having one stage that's only 20-30 minutes long when the rest are all about 1 hour (for the slower riders anyway). I'm much less keen to rush home if it's only a really short race.

35 - 40km should be about the right length for that amount of time, but if it turns out that 2 laps happens to fall within that range anyway, I thought we might as well try to get close to that distance.
Isn't there something to be said for having shorter, punchier stages? A 4km flat stage would allow most, if not all, to be able to contest a sprint finish. I bet that some of the Cs pack a mean sprint finish, but they're not going to finish with the top Bs in a long stage. It would give a broader range of folk a chance to win a stage. You could follow it up with a short climbing stage (Road to Ruins 7km to the windmills?) as a double-header if you want to get more riding in.

A time trial could be interesting! Do time trial bikes still not let you draft?

Internet search tells me Tempus Fugit is 17.3km without the lead-in. The 'standard' lead-in is 2.4km. So 2*17.3+2.4=37km.

We could use the lead-in as warm up? And 'go, go, go' from the course banner? I'm assuming there will be one?

[EDIT]:

Alternatively, someone can create a mock meetup and ride from the starting position to the banner to check the distance. A bit of a hassle but would allow to fine-tune the distance.

Some of the proper Zwift races are set up with no drafting for all bikes - e.g. the Backpedal Hill Climb Series (Saturday 7.30 am). Because many of the hills have a bit of a flat lead-in, it's a tossup between a super-lightweight road bike, a TT bike, or Tron. I'm down to ride the last event (Innsbruck KOM) this weekend. However...

I'm filling myself with Lebkuchen to keep myself awake while trying to finish off these calculations (deadline tomorrow on the project that has been the monkey on my back for the last 9 months - I've been in tears in the office twice this week...). Hopefully I'll get the final tranche finished by breakfast time, and be able to go home for a kip while they're being checked through. The long and short of that is that I'm still going to be über-tired on Saturday morning and probably need to adjust my in-game weight!
