Just seen a really interesting team race series starting on Tuesday evenings in March after the ZRL ends - https://www.rhinoracing.club/rhino-...b3-eL6881U10WqzzajO8NkonqIzK_fS2j_J9whenIC_Ns

Basically, it's a series of races and a team event, BUT teams can be made up of rider from mixed categories. Based on the make up of riders in the team (using an average of riders FTP) each team is given a ranking which affects what points they score. This means @berty bassett can join in :wahhey:

If you click on the link above there's more info in the rules which you can download.

I think this looks really promising and maybe we can enter a couple of teams?

I’d be up for that…but not if @berty bassett joined us 😛😘

That sounds great :okay: I'd be up for it :becool:
Just been reading the "road book" for the series and they've got some really cool ideas for the races. E.G. TTTs with sprint and KOM FTS segment points within the TTT. And a points race, but where only your 3rd and 6th place rider scores finishing points, so there's an incentive to work together to get your slowest rider across the line as quickly as possible!

On that note. Last race in the ZRL is on the 1 March, correct?

Shall we pencil in some sort of one-off race event for the 8th to test it out?

That sounds really good. Mainly because the one downside of the wrtl is not having lee with us. It’d be nice if they explained how the points work in practice. Ie for each team. So we could work it out during the league. But I’m definitely up for it.

Sounds interesting - I like the sound of it especially as they are mixing it up with the rules.

Is it a 6 man team? It’d be brutal if a rider drops out if you need all 6 to finish.

8 man teams - all 8 can race but only the top 6 score

I take from the way it's worded that if less than 6 finished you'd still score for your 3rd placed rider, just miss out on the 6th place scoring.

Not all races have that feature of only 3rd and 6th in the team scoring, it's just one of the race formats within the series

Is there a croggy function on Zwift?

EDIT - I wonder if we all know what a croggy is!?!

They do explain the scoring - but it's a bit complicated on the face of it, and does depend on how many teams they get registered. I think it will be a bit clearer once it gets going. The team's league points are allocated like in the ZRL, so points earned in the race equate to 10 points for the highest scoring team, 9 for the second etc etc

With regards make up of teams, worth noting this from the info:

The team auto-categorization will not use a simple average WKG of the roster, but a formula in which higher WKG
values have a larger influence. If your team has a large spread in rider power you will end up in a more difficult division
than a team with the same average WKG but lesser differences between rider abilities.

Therefore, it will make your team more competitive if you compile rosters of riders with similar WKG.

Do you know if you can switch riders between different teams?

(Sorry I’m being lazy… I’ll try reading it myself when I’m home)
