Nice result Carl :okay:

Nothing wrong with those short Crit races of course - and no offence but as you're not right at the top of Cat B with regards the 20min power measure no worries for you (I'd also be safe with them myself!)

That said, you actually managed to come 6th and still somehow only do Cat C 20 min power numbers anyway - impressive in it's own way!
Lots of drafting and wheelsucking, with a little push up the hill each lap. I find those races excellent interval training rides, great for the sprint/recover training.

I do really enjoy the Crit races ... my aim today was hang on to lead group for a lap or 2, so I was well chuffed lasting til the end.

Just did a similar volcano race. C numbers but finished 5th overall and second B. A few bs with front group but they got dropped on the hill - one hard effort every lap then really really slow. Great workout but if you were dropped you immediately were going to lose a couple of minutes so great fun

Winner did 4.5w/kg for 20 mins I did 3.1. just over a second between us at the bu my NP was high which I think is part of the new autocat

I was off work until lunchtime so did a nice 2h ride around France. Plan was to stick to blue but ended up pushing a bit harder up the hills. Definitely feel I'm getting better at these longer (for me) rides.

My first 'test' saddle arrived, installed it on the Wattbike and plan to do an hour tomorrow to see if there's a difference.

All signed up for the TdS II ^_^

Must confess, as I was wheelsucking each lap, I was thinking of you lol Try to hold that steady position in the pack so that I kept the draft but minimum effort, then blasted up the little climb to keep in the group. Those types of races suit me quite well, compared to say Tuesday where the long drag, whilst not a high % incline, just sees me go too far into the red and shelled out the back.

Yeah Tuesday was so much harder, even tho very little climbing, just the slightly longer climb is death for the likes of us!

Anyway another reminder that it's all a bit arbitrary

 well who knew that a calculated guesstimate pulled from the bowels of an algorithm assuming everyone has the same setup (and has done it properly) would be inferior to a purpose-built multi-hundred pound measuring device?

I'm in for Tour de Splitters. Will be nice to ride with some of you on Tuesday (perhaps for a short time )

Is there some private discord channel or something that you use during races?

If so, rather than link it here, maybe a link could go in the Club private chat in the club section of Zwift companion?

I've been tinkering with internet setup in my outbuilding, now it's been cleared out a bit... With powerline adaptors, I can get a stable connection in there, but the download speed is only 1.5-2.5 Mbps which is a bit pants! Zwift avatars run quite smoothly, but a few of the jerseys go orange from time to time, their power data drops out, and their names go "NVALID"...

The outbuilding is only 5m from the closest part of the house, where I can get 37Mbps download on Wi-fi. Could I get Wi-fi into the outbuilding with a mesh Wi-fi setup? I don't fully understand what that would entail.
So the nice man from Amazon came this afternoon and we’ve now got TPLink Deco mesh set up with 25Mbps in the outbuilding. Cheers for the advice, guys!

My lovely eldest son brought a vomiting bug home from school with him, and by midnight last night, when I was out (at a casino, no less!) on my belated works Christmas Do, I was being copiously sick too. Feeling completely wiped out now (but at least I’m not coughing any longer!)
