Edit: looks like my PB is 8:32 @ 253 watts (about 3.4 w/kg) so anything around that tomorrow will be ok I think.

As with a lot of these races, it's not just the time up the climb, it's trying to get over with someone else as the descent and then ride to the small KoM is faster with 2+ than on your own. So I'll be trying to stick to wheels up the Volcano ... I have a couple of riders I'd like to stick with so we'll see!

Top tip this week ... work really hard to stay in the group that first minute or two. If you get dropped early it will be a very long, lonely ride as the 1st 10kkm is pan flat. Once the group forms you should be able to sit in at about 200-210 watts.I'll drink an herbal tea before this one to be a bit more chill - especially at the start. Coming out the desert there is a little climb that you may have to 'sprint' up, but again it's worth the effort as there will be some free riding the other side.
Mostly flat and slight inclines then to the volcano. I would assume most of us will make it to the volcano together, then it will be every man for himself to the top.
Should be a good course for you this week ... may get a few B scalps along the way ... but if you're still with us at the volcano, be prepared to suffer

Not me. Going for an outdoor ride tonight. TBH I don't think I'll be really Zwifting until ZRL fires up again. Need to take advantage of this nice spell of weather 👍

Sorry but I'm being pulled in 4 different directions this evening which I have had to prioritise. If it was a ZRL week I would race no hesitation but as it isn't Bude chess are desperate for another player in the 4NCL and being a founder member of the club I feel I ought to play for them this evening in their fight to avoid relegation from division 2. The other two options didn't really get a look in. Good luck to those racing this evening, enjoy the suffering!
