Watching the Women's tour at Sibford Ferris last year was quite enlightening. Since then, the CR up there is the QoM held by Demi Vollering  and not the KoM. I think she's got more W/kg than would be allowed in C cat though, so we're safe. ^_^

Happy you didn't get beaten by a girlie then? (She seemed bloody good uphill).
Unfortunately, that 45kg lass will get DQd for going waaaay over cat limits

I think (happy to be corrected) that the limit is 200 watts and she is well below that so she will be ok. On the hillier rides she'll be at the front, but don't forget if she attacks on hills and breaks away, she'll get caught on descent and flats. She'll pick up KoM primes though, and they're big points, but she'll rarely win.

We had a lady rider similar a couple of seasons ago - she couldn't hold the pack on flatter/rolling courses but saved herself for the primes. It's a good team tactic if that option is open to you. Anyone in Splitters or CCC fancy going on a crash diet?

Credit to Chain Reaction/Wiggle for their response to the clunking issue with my new wheelset. They acknowledged my claim within 24 hours, and passed it on internally to a team who resolved it 48 hours after that, with this text:

" Please arrange a replacement freehub to be shipped to the customer. Recommend that their local bike shop clean all the white grease out that sits on the drive draws (bits the pawls engage on to) when fitting the new freehub. This should solve the issue. "

Waiting for my mechanic to say what he will charge to do this and then going to ask CRC/Wiggle to reimburse me for that cost. Hopefully they will, but I'm not sure whether they're obliged to in this instance???

Either way, so far so good and couldn't have asked for more from CRC/Wiggle up until this point. This is one reason why I went with these wheels to be honest, I hoped and trusted that they'd be good in case of any issues and so far they've done as much as I could hope for. Just thought I'd post because people are pretty quick to slag off firms for poor service online but so far this has been excellent

Tour of Britain route released - anyone got it going near home? https://www.tourofbritain.co.uk/tour-of-britain-2022-stage-details-revealed/

Final stage on the Isle of Wight looks good - we'll have to make sure we get our Strava KOMs in during the trip in May :okay:
The Saturday stage across Dorset ends in Ferndown which is about 5 miles from my sister's house and 40 minutes from our home so already got that one in the diary!

Hoping they might do a few laps of a finishing circuit so there is a bit more of a spectacle, but not sure on that one. If they're just straight through for a sprint finish then might see if it will be possible to venture to a climb and see the suffering close up before heading to the finish by car. I'm looking forward to it, though.

Unfortunately the IoW stage is on a Sunday and the following Monday will be my son's second Monday at school so a big day out and a tired start to the week won't be right for him. If I play my cards right then the wife might let me head over there solo for the day
