Having been away at my folks’ over Christmas, and at Jo’s folks’ for the past two days, I’m going to be back onto Zwift tomorrow morning. We’ve got friends staying with us tonight so it’ll have to be an early one - starting the year as I mean to go on.

Hopefully that's the bout of illness behind you for 2026, seemed like a bad run of things

It's that time of year again when I reflect on what I called my "60 Challenge".

When I was 55 I figured that if I trained right I could improve my cycling each year by a bit more than age took away from me. The results so far are in the table.

The all-red 2026 column always looks a bit daunting at the start of the year.

Excellent. That's the big "if" isn't it? "If I train right". My race results are down a fair bit in 2025, but then so was my volume. Down from about 500 hours to about 400 hours. Still enjoyed my cycling but did a bit less of it last year.
