I've got a Planet X pro carbon, and can't find fault with it, my local bike mechanic rates the frame and he wouldn't give me bs , for a grand you get a lot of bike for not a lot of money!!!

What was the gearing on your old bike?

And knowing you as I now do, I'd say a self build would be more in keeping
50/34 up front and 9 spd 12-23 on the back.
Think fancy going triple maybe 52/42/32(have this setup on mtb) and probably keep a 12-23 on rear (Like a straight block:smile:)
