Unfortunately you are, you will have dealings with at least one corporation that pay out a small fortune in sponsorship be it Nationwide building society or Coca Cola, we all pay in the end.

I do not go with that, if Coca Cola only sold 100 bottles a week it would be likely to cost more than it does selling millions.

Go with it or not, the fact remains by buying the product you are indirectly paying a miniscule amount towards some sponsorship related pay. Wether that sponsorship brings the price of the product down or gives the directors unlimited free tickets is neither here nor there.

Cannot disagree with that, but if by making that small donation makes the product a smaller price than surely that is a good thing.

I do not drink Coca Cola and it is a long time since I had financial dealing with the Halifax.

Back to the OP - stop paying Sky, stop paying newspapers who fill their pages with football, stop paying inflated prices to go to matches, stop buying replica kit, etc.
Market forces will take care of the rest.

Worth it. Who goes to Old Trafford to watch the full backs? How may kids run around in a replica shirt with a defenders name on the back? He and a select few other players are huge cash generators.

Anyway..............One Direction earned £12 million EACH last year, how many goals do they score whilst bringing me untold misery?

Anyway..............One Direction earned £12 million ?

Some would argue that that too is obscene and undeserved.

There are 2 people laughing at this - the person being paid it, and me....

Me?

Yes, me.

I am laughing at the people that pay a HUGE sum from their (considerably) smaller incomes to pay to watch someone kick a ball of leather around a park....

In fact they've been blindly (obeying) doing this for decades without question....

I hope there are more footballers in the wings ready to take more money off stupid people......

I'm not stupid. I'm not brilliant either but I am a long way from stupid.

I'd say your post is stupid and that as you wrote you are possibly stupid too - but I'm too polite to say that so I won't.

I'd could also say that you are tragically predictable and unimaginative in your witterings - but I am too polite etc.

Yes it is a lot of money that these guys earn and as has already been stated in previous posts it applies to many other sports, media etc etc. So where do you stop?
No.

Not even close to being the same.

Buying a bike you obtain a tangible and resellable object - not something you can do with a cold, wet, cramped view of the back of someone's head with the occasional 'brief' glimpse of one of 22 footballers 80 yards away.......

If you are hell bent on making remarks about football which is clearly not your bag then at least get your facts straight. At the level of football played where players earn the salaries being discussed you'd be very hard pressed to suffer the scenario you describe. I've been to 18 games this season and have had decent views from decent seats that whilst not the last word in luxury were adequate. As far as I can recollect my brief glimpses were on average over 90 minutes long on each occasion.

I suggest you give it a go and then come back and make some comments based on up to date facts/experience.

Have you actually been to a Premiership ground in the 19 years that they have been all-seater?

How does that work, then, given that I don't have a Nationwide account or drink Coke? And if I did, it would be my free choice.
