Ok. Have found a rather nice climbers bike with Dura Ace Di2 and also a Ti framed beauty which is priced around the same with Ultegra 6800.

There is far too much choice out there, I have to say!

It would be the Ti for me and then upgrade groupo at a later date

What’s your experience with Ti frames?

How do they compare to Carbon?
Ive had two Ti frames and two carbom frames....

Sabbath titanium
Custom titanium

Spec tarmac sl4
Cannondale synapse himod....

Only one of those frames remain in my arsenal........the custom Ti disc from ciello rosso.

I love titanium and love the ride from it

Are you able to explain the ride?

I love my Ridley Noah SL as it’s stiff and light, albeit a harder ride. Do you still get the stiffness and weight benefit or is it totally different?

From my experience (planet X RT58 carbon & Van Nic Ti) the carbon was lighter & stiffer & certainly felt faster, but marginally. The Ti feels more comfortable, especially on day rides. Not much in it for me but the Ti just edges it & my fastest ride of 20+ miles was on the Ti, but it didn't feel it  A crack on the downtube of the RT58 ended it's days & didn't find the RT80 replacement as nice, so that made my decision to stick with Ti easier :okay: Done over 5k trouble free miles in last 18 months on the VN

For me, my Ti feels planted in the descent, its smooth in its feel over bad roads, but its also got the power transfer when you stomp on the pedals.......its a bike i never tire of riding and ive used it for road, cyclocross, flatbar commuter and its just worked in everyway i have wanted it too.

Its currently built 1x11 sram etap, carbon rims and 32mm strada tyres, its like heaven on 2 wheels

Haven’t shared my choices as didn’t want anybody purchasing before me but here goes anyway. These were the two bikes I was looking at in recent posts @jowwy.

I would be looking at a shallower rim version of the J. Laverack though. Actually have the wheels already so was tempted at building my own from frameset maybe.

Here is the Scott which is £3.5k for a 6.6kg bike that has RRP OF £7.6k. Full DA Di2 in latest version, with DA C24 rims.

I would love eTap tbh, but I have a brand new Ultegra 6800 crank already, that was destined for the damaged Bianchi. The point being to swap the power meter between bikes. I can’t bring myself to mismatch eTap and Ultegra though.

Just edited above about eTap btw.

You’re right about the colour scheme. I like it, but the R J.ACK just makes the heart race!

Was getting seduced by the kit attached to the Scott and the lightness I think.

You can upgrade the kit later........that jack just looks uber sweet

The scott just looks like any generic di2 carbon machine

Embrace the Ti and its smooth quality

It’s replacing my Bianchi, so wanted something sweet. Another Bianchi was the plan, but can’t affird a Specialissima. Lol.

That Jack hits the mark though in fairness.

Am I right in thinking that they’re not hugely heavier for longer climbs?
