10 mile TT training?

Due to a shortage of time I'm mostly doing 20 mile rides. So I started thinking of going for high tempo rides and leave endurance stuff alone for now. Apart from blasting up and down straight flat roads what beneficial things can I do to help. Do TT specialists have a weight lifting regime for example?

Doing high intensity rides, not just flat.

TT'ing doesn't need weights. You just need to practice riding faster. I was doing 10,25 and 50 mile TT's on a diet of 20-30 mile rides.

Personally if find 'training' better on the turbo. It is a more controlled environment, meaning I can focus only on what power I need to be out putting rather than pot holes, junctions, cars etc.

However, I think that it is also necessary to learn to ride a TT, which is probably best done actually riding TT's.

Don't know about TT specialists, but as an athlete/cyclist weight training can have its benefits but that would depend on a lot of factors like your age, weight current condition physically etc plus what training you are doing currently and what your weakness are, and most importantly all weight training is not equal its very complex and you need to know exactly what your doing and how to train for your sport or it can be counter productive to performance. Plenty of people will tell you it's a complete waste of time however.

I'v already said that, it's far too complex to just say go and do some wight lifting or strength training, can't really be any clearer than that.
 
Some of the top pros do core work to hwlp them improve and hold their position on the bike.

Look it's dead easy to understand, if your name is Chris Froome I would say don't bother going to a gym if you look like the average club rider who lives on club rides and cafe stops with a full English your going to benifet from a good training regime that includes weight loss diet and additional training in a gym possibly

To be fair, you can be a lot clearer than that. Do you mean weight training for:

Upper body strength
Lower body strength
Upper body conditioning
Lower body conditioning
Injury rehab
Etc

There's many reasons to get in the gym, but not all of them are relevant to cycling, or 10m TT.

Lots of high intensity intervals from short upto 2x20mins at FTP over slightly above. Learning to hold the aero position whilst laying down the power.

Theirs no point in elaborating on the subject because without knowing the person you can't know what is required in terms of training and to be fair if you read what I said its pretty clear that it's not as easy as just rocking up to a gym and doing a some training, it's has to be structured and specific

Plus as I said, you will get a lot of people saying its a waste of time, which is fine if that's your point of view I wouldn't want to dismiss them of that notion it's their training and they can do it as they please, mostly however these people have never been inside a gym and if they have they more than likely did the wrong training for the sport their in, so their not exactly over qualified to pass on that particular piece of advice

That's fine, but earlier you said:

I just assumed that if you were claiming that weight training 'can have its benefits' that you might have some knowledge of what those benefits might be, that's all.
