Café no 7 - Abbey Tearooms in Rosedale Abbey. It's at least 15 years since I've been here and it's still as good as I remember. Glad we went before our walk as it was shut by the time we finished.

Café 14: The Courtyard Café, Rabbit Hill Business Park near Boroughbridge.

Used as the HQ for today's TT I had lunch and a cake here plus two coffees for about £11. Sorry, but no photo as I was with a couple of others who didn't want to appear.

Lovely place, and one I've used previously. They're happy to be a HQ for TT events as well.

Café 15: Lockwood Scar Café, Huddersfield.

Now the plan was to head to the Sons of the North Café but it was fully booked, so my club's organised but no actual booking for a café stop ride ended up here. Budget food, budget cafe, decent service.

Sausage & tomato sandwich plus a coffee for £4.50.

Café No 6.
Ashleigh Road café within Ashleigh Rd playing fields in Swansea.
This café has been there forever and used to serve THE greatest pasties known to man.
Now they just serve coffee, tea etc.
Anyway, a large coffee and a Snickers bar for £1.80 is not to be sniffed at.
Few other pics of my jaunt around the Mumbles and Swansea.

Life's meant no new café for a bit.

Café 16: Eller Coffee, Ossett

Tried two others and both were over-full so called in here on my way home.

£5.15 for a sandwich and a soft drink.

Café 17: Windmill Coffee Shop, Thurlstone

I wasn't planning to go here, but arriving 15 minutes early for my club's 9am ride to Holmfirth the 8.45am meet riders left to the Windmills. After waiting for 5 minutes I thought "stuff it" and set off up the hill after them ... arriving at the café 20 minutes before they did

It's a bit pricey, but there's nothing else around except windmills; large coffee and toasted teacake with jam for £6.15. Then a second coffee and cake for £4.25. Well, I was waiting ...

Cafe No7, The Kitchen Deli in Pontardulais, nr Swansea.
Wales Online, the local website, published an article about a new cycle track which links the main seafront rd through Clyne valley and onto Pontardulais.
I knew part of the route, but other parts I didn't and some of it is brand new.
Did a 30 mile round trip from my house, stopping at this lovely little deli half way.
£9 for a huge ham and cheese panini and a large Cappuccino, and the staff there were so nice.
It has an outdoor area and both in and outside is dog friendly.

Café 18; Cafeteria Togoror, Morro Jable, Fuertaventura

Nothing open south to Faro de Jable, not even the three restaurants in the nearby port made from caravans. The A1 southbound

Caravan port town - dereliction all over:

PXL_20230414_094313776.jpg

So I rode back to Morro Jable and this was the first one open. Friendly, but no English so my Spanglish had to do.

Coffee, water and a welcome ham/cheese toastie for €3

Café 19: CAVE, Holmfirth

Not well enough for the GHS 100-in-8 today recovery from being ill continued with a short ride to Holmfirth.

This used to be BLOC, now called CAVE.

Coffee and cake for £8.20

It's a hipster café, with hipster pricing, and I don't have the beard / clothes / tattoo / earring to go with the lifestyle. Big square of cake though. And my Thompson Capella in the background. Which, given it's a bespoke build by a long-standing specialist Belgian brand, probably isn't hipster either.

Café 20: The Nook Farm Shop & Café, Alston

An unplanned stop on yesterday's 300km audax but it was so cold and wet I couldn't feel my hands or feet. Sausage sandwich, cake (gone!) and coffee (yet to arrive) for £10.40 with really good service.

Café 21: The Olive Tree, Newcastleton

Another unplanned stop - I'd intended on getting to Hawick but glad I stopped here. Lovely Biscotti cake (gone), cooked breakfast and coffee for £12.40. Wonderful service: if I lived nearby this would be my local.

Cake shop, Grassington.

Victoria sponge cake a disappointment, heavy but not moist, jam ok but butter icing not cream. Coffee ok £6.75

Afterwards I passed the recommended Hetton village tea rooms which weren't busy and rued my choice.

Café 23: The Green House, Methley

Another one from last year, but this time with a giant, but very salty, sausage sandwich plus a coffee for £6.75

It's an outdoor cafe, but with an enclosed seating area amongst bushes.
