Could be worse. I've been rear ended by other cyclists, twice, under such circumstances.

Me too... 3x's

Was there an advanced stopping line?
Was there a left turn?

Because I know I'd be a little miffed if I was threading my way to an advanced stopping line to avoid a left hook, only to find someone stopped in my way.
I'd likely be more polite than the person you met, but I'd inform you of your tactical error. I take a primary position at all traffic lights and major junctions, it's just safer for everyone concerned.

I tend to get this kinda thing with car drivers who nearly rear end me and shout me down for not going thru a light they intended to jump. :becool:

There is certainly a rise in 'tutting' and visible impatience from some cyclists when I stop for lights.

The joys of Londump, the bustling Metrolop*ss!

In fairness, if you were to do that on a typical London commute, you'd be stopping 3 cyclists in 5 at every set of lights. Plus the motorbikers will need to be spoken to as well. And that's not to mention the cars!

Ahh, I only said I'd do it in a situation where a fellow cyclist had made it hard for me to get out of a danger zone, I'd have no concern for a fellow cyclist putting just themselves at risk.

Going on the assumption that you were the following cyclist, would you expect a cyclist to possibly put them selves at risk to get you out of danger?

I'm confused.

Funny this topic! Over the weekend I twice spent at least 5 lights of my journey telling off two RLJers for letting the side down. Politely mind you, not like this twunt. I'll almost always say something if anyone jumps the lights, cyclists or drivers. IME it has an effect - many of them stop doing it after a couple of times.
