I’m sure someone will point out that the sign on the original is painted directly onto the wall, but there was no way I could make such tiny lettering look vaguely straight. Besides, I reasoned that it may well have been made this way back in the day: after all, painting a sign on a flat board and hanging it on the wall is much easier than painting letters on the top of a ladder.
My version is also considerably more mucky than the original, but that seems to be the case with most of my models, whatever the subject, and probably says more about my view of the world than anything else…
You could have sneaky "passage controls" where if they're missed, competitors get a time penalty LOL!
