Here, here!

I notice your from Brighton showing appreciation of a post that mentions arse, now that's a surprise.

@Jamieyorky[/USER] I'm where the M62 crosses A1, we often visit York on the bike and in the car, Your Bike Shed Cafe is a regular destination.

As title, anyone else from yorkshire?
Yes. Lofthouse Gate/Stanley, born & bred
Lived in/around Stanley, until I was almost 38

When asked where I'm from, I tell people I'm from Yorkshire, where the M1 and the M62 cross.... despite leaving in 1977.
'Thorpe Interchange'

Ferrybridge Power Station? Ouzlewell Green?
See above
FerryBridge is where the A1/M62 intersect - or used to anyway, before the realignment of the A1 took it away from the town
There's still a gorgeous stone bridge in the town, that (until the late 60's) took all the A1 traffic!!
Glad to read that someone else knows of the little area (can't call it a village, or Hamlet) of Ouzlewell Green, it's partway between Lee Moor & Carlton (the Rothwell, Carlton. Not the Pontefract, Carlton)
Plus there's Patrick Green not too far away, close to jct 30/M62

Ask a Texan about their heritage and they'll tell you they're a Texan first and an American second. Yorkshire folk have much the same outlook about their origins.
Yes, more or less
You don't have to ask if we're from Yorkshire, we'll tell you!!
Sounds like Carr Gate or East Ardsley to me
Carr Gate (jct 41/M1) isn't too far away from 'Thorpe Interchange', but better known nowadays for being home to West Yorkshire Polices Helicopter/mounted section, & the 'Land-Sharks'

Yes, weird that!

As is eliminating most of West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire ...

As for Leicester ... I have done some research and discovered that it is still in Leicestershire, because they wouldn't allow it into Rutland!
Rutland is where Leicester keeps its rich people.

I lived in Yorkshire for several years, and I can tell you that you're wrong.
you can always tell a yorkshireman, sadly you can tell him owt.

I do love the war of the roses misconceptions about counties fighting the names of the rival houses derive from the cities of York and Lancaster the corresponding duchies had little to do with these cities. The lands and offices attached to the Duchy of Lancaster were mainly in Gloucestershire, North Wales and Cheshire, while the estates and castles that were part of the Duchy of York were spread throughout England, though many were in the Welsh Marches

Don't let the truth get in the way of a good story, you'd never make a journalist.

Salford originally, definately not a manc.

I still pay my council tax to Salford, even though I'm closer to the centre of Bolton.

So I'm from Lancashire, even if I have a Manchester post code.

+1 from Yorkshire - born and raised in North Yorks, now live in East Yorks.

Would move to The Netherlands or Bavaria in a blink of an eye, but that could be something to do with me despising 'londoncentric uk'
Move on, every country has it's "Londoncentric". As long as they stay down there and continue to subsidies the rest of the country with their tax's, what have you got to complain about? Obviously the West country have right to complain as the London tosser are stealing their homes.
PS it's a natural phenomenon
