I'd make sure you're hid behind a VPN that's installed on your router.

Don’t know if you can access Sky sports etc via a Firestick? Can you? If not, You may want to look at NowTV membership or even Sky?
Have you tried to negotiate a deal with virgin if out of contract?

(I actually have one I didn’t need in the end that I could do at a discount )

But it’s £34 a month for sports and £8-10 for Sky cinema…how much do you pay at the mo?

New Smart TVs have all the apps built in. So you only need to pay virgin for the internet. Subscribe to whatever streaming services you want.

I’m going to guess he’s not using a CRT or plasma though. 4K TVs chew the juice too on UHD content
