Getting old but not past it

Not exactly, is it just getting out of the saddle, or getting out to the point where you have to stop as you cannot go any further, not one I have ever come across, is it colloquial to your area?
Never heard that expression either but, judging from most replies, I take it it means standing on the pedals.

Yeah but is it just standing or standing to the point where you can't breathe

My lowest gear is 28 rear 39 front mid 90s road bike .I am looking for hills to get better. so far so good. And getting back into it again two years
off.
