As a 22mph average cyclist just commuting with very little effort, I admit..

On a good day, I can make a peak flow meter hit the end stop. I'm still crap riding up hills, as presumably the rest of the system isn't very good at getting oxygen out of all that air. Really high VO2 max tends to be genetic - you can improve it a bit through training, but you won't match Greg Lemond in the 1980s.

The scene near the end of Superman where me makes time go backwards was actually me on a Raleigh Commando. I also had to go commando as id **** my Y fronts just before the stunt. Look closely and youll see me mentioned in the credits.

Why would you want your underpants to randomly jump sideways, and why only at parties?

Mine would require crowbarring or chiselling off first.

I get the same. Genetically low heartbeat (my Dad is the same) plus a lifetime of cycling can put my beat down to 40, occasionally as low as 35 when Im asleep. Nurses can get a bit excited during overnight hospital stays, but I just tell them thats normal for me.

Always the same for me. Every time I had my annual BUPA MOT through work, I would have my "chat" with the Doc after all the tests etc., and it was always, "Now then, I notice your resting heartrate was only 45 just now"

"45, sod it, it's normally 42!"

Moment of silence, ""Do you do regular exercise?"

"Yep, cycled virtually everyday for past 55 years."

"Oh, that's fine then."

I have done regular exercise through most of my teen and adult life, and still cycle regularly.

I have never got my resting heart rate below 60 (although tbf probably never measured it before my 40s), and currently it seems to hover around mid 60s. I have no idea of my heart rate when sleeping and only measure it infrequently.

I firmly believe that, other than the occasional outrider, genetics is the main driver of heart rate.
