Drinking this porter now and it's surprisingly good. Really deep, treacly taste to it, nice body, sweet with just the right balance of bitterness. This was made with cheapo malt so I might get some better quality and scale it up. Definitely a success.

Had a couple of Belgian beers last night ; Saison Dupont and Rochefort 8, bothe went down very nicely.

BH had a Vocation Naughty and Nice chocolate stout.

New pressurised fermentation setup. Fridge was free off facebook, I've taken it apart and given it a good clean which is a benefit of having a commercial unit, it's all serviceable. Door seal needs replacing so I've duck taped it for now. I hope the thermal fuse is in good condition, anyone know how much of a fire hazard old fridges are?

Apologies for not being 'beer' but this was so refreshing after a long day at work & then a 10km mostly uphill ride to the pub, meet up with a pal & he got me a bag of pork scratchings too ... 🍏 🍺 👍

Something new this week, a bang average west coast that was very bland, and a Norwegian IPA that was very nice, with the added Brucie bonus of it being in a 500ml can.

I'm making a few tweaks to my Neck Oil clone recipe, needs to be a bit lighter, clearer (although draught Neck Oil is hazier than canned) and slightly less bitter. In the meantime I thought I'd try what appears to be an Aldi clone of the same, judging by the design on the can.

It's really not very good. My homebrew recipe is closer to the original (assuming it is a clone) and much nicer overall. One to avoid.
