I am... I think I have spent some good 3hours already reading/researching about all kind of tyres but I have yet to decide which one to go for.
Let's look at this another way, what are the make & model of tyres you have at the moment?

Speed will be mostly down to you not the tyres.
I certainly wouldn't go for Marathon Plus ... as they are heavy and sluggish on roads
Maybe you're overthinking this ;) ...just sayin!

Schwalbe Big Apple. I run 2.35s on my Big Dummy. With plenty of sky in your rounds, they are plenty fast enough.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
I ran Cityjets for a while and they do roll very nicely indeed. They're ok off road in the hardback, but w hint of moisture in the dirt and you can forget it.
I use the same on my current MTB commuter, managed 17.7 mph avg the other day over 10 miles .

I have wire bead Vittoria Randoneurs on mine, largely because they had them in stock at Decathlon. I think you could ride across three miles of grip rod and not get a puncture, but they are very heavy.

They were just plain Marathons.

Another things is that they are a pig to get on and off the rim, which doesn't bode well if you do need to do a repair at the roadside.

not sure, but some very old Raleigh ones, not sure about model.
However one is completely bald now and cracked up, other not as bad but still cracked up, the totally bald one likes to slide around A LOT.
