The Samsung is what I've got - or one of the many I've got, they do tend to collect over the years. On the bike I carry a little Samsung PAYG clamshell - basic phone, no camera, E1270. Usually in a bottle cage bag, as I don't like carrying anything hard in a jersey pocket (knowing someone whose cycling was effectively ended when a phone damaged his spine in an off).

I've been tempted to get one of these micro or mini phones.

Catching fire risk? Really?A very good reason not to carry an expensive phone in back pocket. Catching fire risk aside!!
Can’t you keep in a strong case in Tri, saddle or pannier and Bluetooth
Or switch it off and enjoy your ride
Just don’t buy a second hand one, you cant be sure where it’s been!
Yep, Google it...Catching fire risk? Really?
Well I suppose with the amount I sweat it probably gets quite warm in there. I'm not worried about a fire risk though in seriousness, I have a sensible smartphone not one of these high end 500 quid Apple or Samsung ones that do catch fire sometimes.Yep, Google it...
Problem is you would then need somewhere to stash your reading glasses so you could operate it!On the bike I carry a little Samsung PAYG clamshell - basic phone, no camera, E1270.
