bike service advice

Hi. I wonder if anyone can suggest a bike service/user manual that is clear, concise and idiot-proof. I have both a road bike and a couple of mountain bikes and if I can i'd like to carry out most of my own maintenance/upgrades.

I've invested in a few recommended tools but at the moment I'm the usual "all the gear no idea" kind of plank.

Youtube is also very handy. There are lots of "how to" videos on Youtube for bike maintenance operations. Including the make / model of the component you're trying to service may help the search process.
