It's such a good quote! Funnily enough I first came across it credited to Sir Thomas Beecham, as 'Mediocre composers borrow, great composers steal', but Stravinsky seems the most widely credited, so I went with that.

'Octopus' stems from the Greek, so Latin plural does not apply.

This came up because some of my lock-down companions are crocheting octopuses.

These comprise 'essential supplies' in a soft apocalypse, by all accounts.
