I can't think of anything much worse than having your house flooded

How about returning home from university to find that not only has your mother moved but the house and the rest of the street had been demolished?

Ah, the things that I took in my stride...:okay:

Meanwhile, the poor folk in the flood affected areas must be in total despair. My 'crisis' was sorted in an hour. It's going to take many months to restore equilibrium for the affected people in the current floods.

Those poor people. I know that I live 60 yards from the sea front but the flood defences have always held. I've never had the experience of being flooded out like that, hope I never do.
I think that it's high time that the government sorted out some decent storm drains.

Looks like the River Aire has topped it's banks through Leeds, including in the city centre around Brewery Wharf and the Royal Armouries.
A grim Boxing Day for a lot of people - your heart goes out to them doesn't it?

The BBC are an age behind and seem to be relying on harvesting other peoples pictures from social media...
