Just got a triban, great bike but saddle is awful does anyone have any good recommendations for a replacement saddle

One that fits YOUR butt.

Sorry but there are very few - if any "one saddle fits all butts"

There is such a thing as an ass fit machine - I think it's Evans Cycles that has them?( someone will help here).
Otherwise it's just try one.
If you have over 200 posts you can try one from he saddle library on here.

The short and unhelpful answer is.. One that fits you. Saddle fitting is a black art I'm afraid. What fits one will be he'll on a pole for another.

So a few questions that are worth asking..

Have you been riding long?
Do you have padded shorts?
Is your bike set up right?

Once you can answer yes to those 3 the best thing IMO to do is get a selection of other people's rejects from eBay and pick up a charge spoon and try them all out. Get an idea of how far apart your sit bones are and that'll give you an idea of how wide the saddle needs to be. Also, padded saddles are BAD. Padding on the saddle puts pressure on soft tissues which will cause problems.

I'd say that you check your bike fit and if it's set up ok then persevere with your current saddle. There really is not much in it when it comes to saddles and it's recommended that you allow at least a dozen rides for your backside to get used to the new shape.

All four of my bikes have different saddles and they all took time to acclimatise. But now i can spend hours in all of them.

Ps do you use cream down below. If you don't might be worth considering to reduce chafing.

I have a T3 and think the saddle is fine. Although admittedly not had much experience with saddles but done nearly 300 miles on mine in a couple of months and find it fine.

I have padded shorts and have tweaked my set up to what I think is perfect for me

I like Brooks saddles, I have 6 of them but I'm selling two to buy a Titanium Swallow :-)

But as some people have said, saddles are a personal thing, what is good for somebody might not be for another.

I dont use cream, never have. I cycle over a fair distance on my triban and have had it over a month.
The saddle is okay for short trips but on longer trips it kills
