Clearly there are some members on this forum who delight in nit picking just for the hell of it, the op has made his intentions quite clear regards his requirements for a helmet camera and there is absolutely no need for continued "needling" of the op, leave it alone for goodness sake!!!

Let me stop you right there: the post that caused the confusion was directed to me and I replied, so you can save your premature indignation for someone else.

If battery life is the major factor then look at the Cycliq Fly12 https://cycliq.com/products/fly12

I got a SJCam M10 (

) because I got fed up with close passes on my commute - without evidence there'd be nothing I could do about them but the police have spoken with 2 close pass drivers on reviewing my footage so far and are about to discuss a third reckless pass on a blind bend with me. (see

for one of them). Most of the time I delete footage daily but sometimes I'll upload something.

One thoughtless driver at a time, it might make a difference but at least I can now sometimes do something about dangerous driving.

In the waterproof case the sound is hopeless so the footage is pretty much just video. I bought the M10 because I didn't want to spend a lot on something which I might have got bored or fed up with, and because it is fairly compact but it is still too big & daft to go on the helmet. It won't catch every daft manoeuvre but I'm happy to compromise. The actual footage is a lot better quality on a PC as it seems to lose quality when uploading to YouTube. Unless it is raining I can clearly make out registrations from pausing the footage. The still images are very useful.

I run it under the bars so it is fairly discreet. It doesn't look into car windows like a helmet camera would, so it doesn't show who is on the phone very often. If money permitted I might look into a Drift Stealth to go on the helmet as they look compact, and have good battery life.

I think not well not for me, that's more than the bike cost

I have a Fly12 but wouldn't buy one at that price either, mine was about half that when it was on Kickstarter.

If I was looking for a bike cam now, I'd go for a Fly6 and mount it under the bars (masking the red LEDs obviously). They're about £99 but if that's too much you can always get one second-hand.
