Is this enough 'cast iron' for the guarantee ^_^

I'll need a cast iron guarantee that it will go uphill at 20mph and cruise at 30 on the flat...

It looks faster than that in the showroom..

Hi SittingDuck. I bought a 2011 SuperSix 105 and commute 17.5 miles each way most days - its a fab bike, sure you'll love it. Whilst really stiff and responsive, it also soaks up lots of road buzz - makes long rides very doable.

One thing to note though is that the top tube is quite long, so you may end up on a size down from your expected frame size. My 52cm is a stretch for a buddy who normally rides a 54cm for example. HTH.

Cheers jgs. I had a good study of the geometry and fairly sure that a 54 or a 56 would both fit me. The 54 will be more agressive though and I would probably go with that, unless I found it too cramped. Only way to find out is a test ride!

How much of a test ride will Evans allow? Whats the arrangement, are you covered by insurance ?

A test ride in Tredz is just around the carpark, ideally I would like to do 10 miles or so taking in a variety of road surfaces etc.

I have never test ridden one from Evans but I believe they will let you take it out for a little while. There's a 56 in my local branch but I think I'm going to be a 54. Need to consider the fincances seriously first.

I am guessing you want a higher group set but Fudges in Epsom have a Supersix with SRAM Apex for £1160 (RRP £1800 apparently)!

Cheers but I want Shimano - I have SRAM on the Verenti and although it's nice and light, I prefer the smooth feeling of Shimano. SRAM just feels so plasticy and clicky, in comparison.
