Looks like I missed a good one.

+1

That said, this morning's Christmas ride with the locals didn't go so well. Heavy legs, copious snot and a building headache (but hey, my ankle still works). So probably for the best that I didn't venture too far from home.

That was probably the ideal midwinter night ride, and an excellent way to round off the year. We got all the magic of seeing the city transformed by the night and the quiet without the long cold dark bits inbetween, and the short distances and frequent tourist/food stops kept everyone together and made it a particularly sociable night (and morning). I loved just winding around through sideroads and alleys and seeing many new spots or different aspects on familiar spots. Very well done to Titus for the route and the inspired commentary - who could forget 'Fortnum and Mason's, quite good decorations'?
It was nice to see familiar faces and make new acquaintances. Looking forward now to the Fridays 2017.

Fantastic ride. I've never seen so much of London especially on night when everything looks different. Alas my photos seem to be taken with potato as my pocket camera doesn't work very well when it's dark.
Many thanks for Titus The Big Boss  I expected the ride on main streets but I was taken into the labyrinth of narrowest and innermost streets. I was amazed. Also riders marking the turns ... everything was perfect for me. :bravo:
Except the hills. Well I'm fat, lazy, getting old and ... lazy with Brompton with only 3 gears. And I hate hills.
Anyway also big "thank you" for those guys who told me about this ride took me out off my pit.
Even the trip to home on train wasn't boring. Conductor and me sat in front of each other and we were in a serious competition "who will yawn more times". I won.[/QUOTE]
Those are great pictures Aušra - if you took them on a potato then I'll have to start carrying a vegetable instead of a camera on rides. Nice meeting you btw.

Great pix, @User21629 - you have an eye for a photograph. Great to have you along and hope to see you next year in the exciting series of rides we have planned. If you haven't already done so, you can sign up for the email that updates everyone, all at the same time, here.

Sounds like I missed a treat. But I was struggling (and failing) to keep my eyes open at 11:30 so I probably made the right decision. However, my Brompton is not speaking to me.

See you all on some nocturnal adventures in 2017

It's a bit more complicated than that...
I don't think I've ever seen Leadenhall Market so empty. How about a midsummer rerun for those of us who couldn't make it this time?

(And enquiring minds want to know - what was the planned mid-ride venue that was so mean as to require ID?!)

Welcome to the world of Brompton.
There's a reason I caught the train to Victoria today.....

When we acquire A Round Tuit and send an email with dates and destinations you'll see it's be hard to squeeze in another ride into next year's plans. We've even two on the same weekend. (Albeit not in the same country....)
