This is my 3rd Christmas without mum, it doesn't seem to be getting any easier so to all those still missing loved ones at this time of year :hugs:

Playing silly games with my brother and sister.

Hunt the thimble: I introduced it to Norway - it only lasted one Christmas.

Going out with my mates (a few of whom are no longer around) and being with family, cousins, grandparents.

Don't miss dry-retching Christmas morning and trying not to attract my parents' attention.

Going for a long walk with my family and dog after eating too much dinner.

I miss how exciting Christmas was as a kid. It was so difficult waiting for the school term to end and then waiting days until Christmas. I think everyone gets to a certain age where Christmas just loses that special feeling. I held on to it for years but by 13/14 I'd lost the magic.

GOAB

One of our kids has Down's. The great thing is that even though he's 20 he is 100% a believer in Santa. So we still do the tray with mince pie etc and he's so excited on Xmas morning. So this keep Xmas going for us

Not sure what I miss but I'll tell you what I don't miss. Being dragged to church on Xmas morning by my religious mother for the "Childrens' Service". All I wanted to do was ride my new bike or play Buckaroo

Is it a coincidence that his name is 'Drago'?

True. We went out for a walk earlier,1 cyclist, 1 child on a bike, a couple of dog walkers and that was it. When I was a kid we all took the dog for a walk and us 3 kids ran around the fields enjoying the freedom and siiliness

My misses and her daughter have just left for a long walk in the forest. I'm staying put.

But I soon have three months of sun and exercise to make up for Christmas 'relaxing'.
