Going back...............my late father never really went to school and arrived from rural Ireland in 1959 with nothing at all apart from good looks. He worked on building sites when I was little and yet I can only remember him in a shirt and tie and with shoes like mirrors. I never once in my life saw my father scruffy. It sticks with you, I can't go out unless I am dressed not bad/well, particularly on the Vespa, and I wouldn't be seen dead in a fleece or cargo pants.

It get harder as you get older, I started to lose hair and go grey, that didn't bother me looks wise, but it bothered me because it affected what colours I could wear. I am not as bald as I look, I just zap it off so that I don't have that grey hair/clothing colour problem.

:okay:

I've got two sons, one is tatooed all over and wears regular 20 year old kids (explosion in a paint factory clothes), my youngest (18) is just like me and his grandad, he has the screaming ab dabs if MrsF hasn't ironed something "just so", won't wear logos and is as picky as hell about what he wears, goes through 4 or 5 changes before venturing out, he's a total pain in the arse, like me. ^_^

At 18 he should be ironing his own clothes!

My Dad worked on building sites, I remember lots of the old guys who would wear a suit on the site. That's something you don't see now!
The flipside is the number of oldish guys I see now, usually around the betting shop, with suit jacket, really dodgy tracky bottoms, and brouge type shoes. Not a great look for the mature gentleman!

In work I wear t shirt and shorts, quite often with soil on them/me, a bit of grease on my hands and grass clippings falling out of my pockets, so when we go out somewhere it's nice to look and feel nice for a change. That may still be t shirt and shorts, but it's my Sunday best t shirt and shorts!

Seems I spend most of the time in work gear - multi pocketed work trousers and tee/polo shirt, safety boots. Fleece as required. After its tee shirt and cargo shorts and after all day in boots, barefoot as much as possible.
A glance in wardrobe reveals a couple of suits, a pile of t-shirts and shorts, couple of jeans and chinos Lots of cycling clothes, an probably more for windsurf/padddleboarding gear - seasonal requirements bulk it out a lot.
