I have some new pearl izumi road shoes and one of them is very noisy when you give it some on climbs or sprints - it sounds like a sort of creaking sound. I don't know whether it's the shoe or the look keo cleat. The cleats are definitely tight.

Any ideas?

try putting some gt85 in the keo spring.

Failing that unscrew them and put generous amount of grease on the pedal threads before reattaching them - if not that - investigate the shoe or other areas of the bike.

My Mum told me that creaking shoes means that you haven't paid for them yet.

Try paying off your outstanding balance on your credit card.

Mr Sheene is your friend.

My dam shoes creak all the time if I don't apply a quick blast to each pedal/cleat before I go out.

But if you get caught in the rain expect it to get a whole lot worse! ;)

I had this problem before on my SPD's turns out it was the tread on the plate that you screw the cleats into that had gone in the one shoe. The guy in my LBS took the sole out of the shoe replaced the plate inside, put a bit of grease on em and its been fine since. I think I over over tightened it once and it knackerd the thread out.
