This thread is for any CycleChatters to share their personal goals for 2020

To make it easy to find our goals as we go through the year, can I ask that each poster posts only one post to the thread initially so that our goals are page 1-2, and updates this thread through the year.

All are welcome. For those new to CycleChat, if you also Zwift then come and join us on the Splitters thread. Add CycleChat to you Zwift name and join ZwiftPower and join the CycleChat Team in ZwiftPower

My targets for 2020 ....

Ride more than in 2019, which was 8640 km (mostly on Zwift)
Increase w/kg on zwift to 3.4
Keep FTP at 235 or above
Get weight below 70kg and keep it down there
If I can get to the Tour of Cambridge, then ride the 100 miles in less than 5 hours
Complete all the 'route' badges in Zwift
Take my new bike outside in the sun come Spring and Summer ^_^

Is this a virtual training targets thread? If so ...

Keep up the regular Turbo sessions throughout the year ... and learn a bit more about the technicalities of it. Then I might even be able to set some targets :laugh:

Keeping it simple with not too many targets

  1. 4,000km which would be my best distance (3,606 this year)
  2. Cyclechat 50km and 100km monthly challenge
  3. Audax R500 award (50,100,150 and 200km rides)
I would say the 100km monthly challenge is going to be the toughest challenge

Nope, it is a thread for your overall 2020 cycling targets. It just happens that most of us on this bit of the Forum also do a lot of indoor stuff :smile:

Here are my 2020 goals. A bit stretching, but my Coach said my initial ones were "too modest" :blink:

Set no total distance or TSS goals this year
Create a productive engagement with my coach this year - follow the (4 year) plan
Ride at least 50% of my miles outside
Enter at least 6 races (BC Cat 4 or British Masters), including Masters National Championships
Qualify for Gran Fondo World Championships
Win at least one race
Study race tactics and document plan and outcome in each race
Beat my Power Bests at all levels
Get weight to 70kg (11 stone)
… Stretch target FTP 4W/Kg
Have a minimum of 50% dry days
Complete the Cingles Challenge on Mont Ventoux
