Who needs an excuse and why shouldn't middle-aged people not do so might I ask - and what about old aged? People can wear what they want and it makes sense to wear the stuff that is practical for whatever activity you might be undertaking

i think you will find all the answers here, http://www.urbanlimits.org/why-do-cyclists-wear-lycra/ and for what its worth , i used to think why do cyclists wear lycra.........until I started wearing it myself and realised the benefits of wearing the right clothes for the job has many advantages.
