I am looking at the 500 but what if any advantages over the 200 does it have.

Temperature

If you don't need the above then stick with the 200.
If you are using the machine to follow a route. Then just be aware that there is a well known fault with the 500 with the routes. Garmin have refused to fix the problem. It's a gamble as to whether you get a machine that reads routes properly or not.

I've got an 800..now if I'm using the navigation is it best to use to routing for bicycle or car?

last time I used routing via bicycle method I went through parks and whats not

I'd prefer using car

I've just left mine on bicycle routes but I've just been following my own tracks (plotted on road); I maybe should cycle out to somewhere and try out the route to start option :wacko:

Oh aye, I'll try road tomorrow....I only wanted to avoid it if it took me on busy carriageways etc

im aware of the avoid highways tolls etc which are selected

i shall use road for now
