Have you tried re-registering with a different name to see what happen's?
 
Is garmin connect notworking ?
Tried to upload my ride today and although the upload button works nothing happens and the rest of the site is unresponsive including the total miles logged on the home page being blank .

Mine wasnt the other day, all working fine now

I am looking at the 500 but what if any advantages over the 200 does it have.

If you don't need the above then stick with the 200.
If you are using the machine to follow a route. Then just be aware that there is a well known fault with the 500 with the routes. Garmin have refused to fix the problem. It's a gamble as to whether you get a machine that reads routes properly or not.

last time I used routing via bicycle method I went through parks and whats not

I'd prefer using car

I've just left mine on bicycle routes but I've just been following my own tracks (plotted on road); I maybe should cycle out to somewhere and try out the route to start option :wacko:

Oh aye, I'll try road tomorrow....I only wanted to avoid it if it took me on busy carriageways etc

P28 of the manual refers to the routing, you may want to check out 'Avoidance Setup' - For avoiding types of roads.

im aware of the avoid highways tolls etc which are selected

i shall use road for now
