Well I thought that maybe a medaeval approach of the bodies being on display for a while might get the message across about Christmas lights. And it would be in winter, so they should last a while.

ah, yes, a nice festive xmas gibbet with all the tinsel trimmings would look loverly.

I always find it best to embrace our national flag. Otherwise, being a dark-skinned person, I might get sent back to where I came from.

From 2006 - but equally true today...

Due to the nature of the quality of driving in England the Department of
Transport has now devised a new scheme in order to identify poor drivers
and give good drivers the opportunity to recognise them whilst driving.

For this reason as from the middle of May 2006 those drivers who are
found to be driving badly which includes:

-overtaking in dangerous places

-hovering within one inch of the car in front

-stopping sharply

-speeding in residential areas

-pulling out without indication

-performing U turns inappropriately in busy high streets

-undertaking on motorways

-taking up more than one lane in multi lane roads

These drivers will be issued with flags, white with a red cross,
signifying their inability to drive properly. These flags must be
clipped to a door of the car and be visible to all other drivers and
pedestrians. Those drivers who have shown particularly poor driving
skills will have to display a flag on each side of the car to indicate
their greater lack of skill and general lower intelligence mindset to
the general public.

Please circulate this to as many other motorists as you can so that
drivers and pedestrians will be aware of the meaning of these flags.

Department of Transport

Ah indeed. But can you help - I saw two cars yesterday with 4 (yes that's four) flags on - just where in the intelligence spectrum do the owners belong?

Sheffield.

That sounds more like a reward than an imposition!

Bloke we used to work with, born and bred in the UK. Was asked:
"It must be warmer than this where you come from."
Response:
"What, Loughborough? Not really."

Late night taxi drivers get a lot of abuse and fair dodgers.

Remember a story in Bradford a few years wgo, where attacks against taxi drivers (usually Asian) dropped after they started to wear the St George's flag on their cars.

They said that the lager louts they picked up after hours, would usually see the flag and sense a commonality.

Heard a brilliant one today from one of our Scouts.

There are a couple of white vans with workmen parked at the end of the road where the HQ sits.... festooned with about a dozen England flags

Two Scouts (in uniform) walked up and told the guy he was flying the flag upside down!

They then explained that as with the Union Flag there was a right and wrong way up and the white "boxes" were slightly shorter at the top of the flag.

They then left the workmen with flags in hand trying to work out which way up the flags should be.!
