Indeed. In a typical week, I commute over 100 miles plus 2 gym sessions and one 5 mile run once outside.

Though healthy, I find I get lots of sniffles and low level colds. When I do get them, they linger longer than they should.

2-3 days of no exercise and I'm fine again.

its funny because when i use the bus/train/tube to commute i get horrible colds . the one I had in December wiped me out for most of the month. when I am on the bike i don't suffer with colds and feel more alert and healthier.

Mass transit is a petri dish for viruses, Subaqua. I think bicycling also promotes the immune system. So I'm thinking it prevents ailments, as well as curing them. With all the furor about National Health in the US, it may be easier and cheaper just to send me a Bob Jackson Tourer and have me stay with present provider.
