Expensive bike shortage.

My bike had a book price of £3600 4 years ago , I got it for 1/2 of that , it was new old stock , it had a scratch on the crossbar , the bike I think had been set up for another , ie seat height and forks cut to suit . The brand is not to well known in UK . At the book price I would never have bought it , but after owning and riding it , id say I It would have been worth the 3.6k initial asking price. Admittedly, I have modified the cassette and rear deraileur to accommodate my gammy leg , but it’s a dream to ride.
So it could be that the brands that are better known in UK are selling well, Giant,Trek, Specialised, Cannondale to name a few . Lesser known brands may well be easily available and every bit to the same spec. As per my BH . View attachment 534544

BH bikes are really nice - plenty of them about here in Portugal being close to Spain where they are from. The Burgos BH Pro cycling team is a strong squad this year too.

My KTM MTB is relatively unknown in the UK / USA etc too yet it is a large manufacturer - only very loosely connected to the KTM Motorbike brand historically - but is every bit as good as the more well-known brands.

Giant have agreed to replace my troublesome TCR,my LBS have said it's due in October.

Giants are usually pretty spot on. Why was it troublesome?

I was wondering if any Pro teams were riding BH at the mo, the team has a young British Lad riding for them

Agree, KTM road bikes cool as well. Next project will be based on their disc frame, have ultegra groupset, mavic discs, just need to find 58cm frame!

I have been riding a KTM for years. If I had a £ for every time I have heard " I didn't know KTM made bikes" I could afford a new one.

They are! My closest LBS is a KTM dealer, they keep pretty much the entire range of road and MTB in stock.

I think photo's of bikes like that should be banned on here, just when I think I am content with my stable of 6 along comes one like that.

That’s a good reason for buying from an LBS, you may have had a lot grief had you bought it on line ,
