The police believe they know who the bomber was and have also arrested another man in connection with the attack. The police and security forces know who a many of these extremists are. Round them all up before they carry out these attacks.

And rightly so. 'Rounding people up' on the basis of what police and security forces 'know' is not how we do things. Our hard-earned and rightly-cherished principles of the 'innocent until proved guilty' type are crucial, not just to the rights of people living here but to our conception of ourselves as a society and as a people. The moment we start letting 'them' imperil such principles is when we'll know they're winning. It's not an easy balance to get right, but draconian responses to horrible events like these not only undermine vital foundations to our way of life, they make repetitions more rather than less likely.

There'll possibly be one or two idiots who do. Overwhelming majority are very grateful for them.

The police do an awesome job. Even when I got myself in trouble 11 years ago they were polite, happy, and helpful. Never met a bad copper.
