I splashed out on a real Burberry trenchcoat, long before they became 'popular', if you know what I mean. First time I wore it in a decent rainstorm I discovered it wasn't in any sense waterproof. Don't think I've worn it since. Probably worked out at about £50 a wear.

Ah that brings back memories of my motorcycling days. I can still remember the smell and the slight grubbiness on your hands every time I put it on. Fantastically waterproof and warm though.

I went to a posh do recently and mid way through it, the hostess, (it was her 40th) went out and changed from her little black dress to another little black dress. I did find that a little odd.
