Would be between:
Behemoth - The Satanist
Triptykon - Melana Chasmata
Honourable mention to Death From Above 1979's The Physical World.
I'm getting a copy of At The Gates' new effort tomorrow, but I'm not exactly excited. Taake release Stridens Hus at the beginning of December and I've high hopes for that.
@ianrauk - I can't get into Mastodon's latest effort, after many listens. For me, their their first four albums are absolutely original classics, but then they used The Hunter as an interlude into a fairly mainstream metal sound. Not that they don't deserve a huge bag of money for their initial creativity, I just think they've lost it a bit: they once gave us concept albums about Moby Dick, and now serve up lame Ramones style chants. Maybe I'm being a dick about it though?
