I'd say different, not better. They're both terrific movies. But I have to say, it's the original that stays with me.The recent remake of "True Grit" was a lot better than the John Wayne version

Hmm. It’s a close one but...
The Departed/Infernal Affairs
I really enjoyed the Hong Kong original but the Scorsese version edges it on the acting front.
I preferred Infernal Affairs (at the time, neither has stuck with me)Hmm. It’s a close one but...

Dredd/Judge Dredd
Karl Urban’s was far superior and truer-to-the-comics than Sylvester Stallone’s version.
I liked that tooKarl Urban’s was far superior and truer-to-the-comics than Sylvester Stallone’s version.
They’re not remakes though - they’re two different stories with the same character.
I’m pretty sure they align to different versions of Dredd as he appeared in the comics too. The older stories with the ABC Warriors about had more comedy than later.

And kissed Hershey. Judges are chemically neutered. My main pet peeve with Stallone’s version is he took his helmet off. Judge Dredd Just doesn’t remove his helmet!
