Been a pretty interesting tournament. The big guns haven't done especially well, whilst smaller nations have.
For me this can only be a good thing, and weirdly what FIFA have been trying to encourage.

Don’t really agree with that assessment Uruguay’s opening luck combined with one poor performance from he guy who was red carded coloured the whole match.
Russia never looked down, always playing aggressive football looking to score. The same match with a different roll of the dice could easily have gone Russia’s way.
Anyhoo, Spain v Russia will be interesting.

Yes, Russia tried to chuck everything they had at Uruguay, but their play in the final third and in the box was poor, down to 10 men or no. They should have done a lot better, especially with the set-pieces.
Compare to Germany, who actually played better the other night when down to 10. And they made the set pieces count. Russia's first two results really flattered them. Against anyone half decent, they were always going to struggle. Other than the Saudis, they were the lowest-ranked team in the tournament.
