Come on,we know deep down inside that England won't win the WC,but we like to pretend to ourselves that we have a really good chance. It's a bit like Christmas. We all like to join in the festivities and the celebration of 'Our lord's' birthday,but deep down not many of us really think JC ever existed. It's an excuse for a piss up,to put our flags and bunting out and to all feel a part of one great thing. There's nothing wrong in doing this! It's the joining in of the world's greatest sporting event,whether you like football or not. If we go out on Tuesday i'll be disappointed not so much because we won't be winning the World Cup...again!,but because all the flags and bunting will be coming down and that feel good factor will disappear. Then we'll get down to the serious stuff of analysing Brazil's 'genius' or Argentina's 'blood and guts,never say die attitude'. Yawn bloody yawn!!

I predicted Belgium-Spain a few pages ago, but since then I've started to lean towards the same view as you. I'm undecided about Spain. But they could yet click into gear and if they do, they could be too good for Croatia.

The winner of the Belgium-Brazil quarter-final will go on to win overall. And that is going to be one hell of a match (cue Mexico and Japan going through instead).

Colombia are one of three teams to win all their games to date - obviously they’re not very good and we will stroll in to the WC final.

Nope. They lost 2-1 to Japan in their opening match.

Yes, they beat Poland 3-0, but hard to make anything of that as the poles have been absolutely abysmal.

And again, they beat Senegal 1-0 yesterday, but they didn't have the run of the game and capitalised on Senegal's inability to convert some pretty good chances.
