Smart Lunar front and back for less than a fiver - though you need to spend £50 to get free P&P.

Short term offer.

This is one of the weaker lunars but decent lights - I have standardised on them on the front for various bikes for normal duties (Hope Vision 1 is used for nightime country trips) and at this price it's almost worth it just to get a spare front light mount.

Or to get another rear bit of the light - the rears are prone to beaking if dropped (I have broken two) but as I understand it the rear is just a battery holder and standard across all models so can be used with a more powerful front. Someone feel free to correct me if I am deluded in this.

I'm sure you can get re-chargeable lights that last longer, but they tend to be bulky and/or very expensive.

Well you can run these with rechargeables of course. I do. Just get decent rechargeable AAs and use a decent slow charger. This is the reason I never understand the apparent wonder of USB lights with built in batteries. And the lunars are so cheap you don't necessarily have to swap the batteries en route - just clip on a spare pre-batteried light.

The advantage for me is that I can recharge them at work, or I assume even off the mini battery pack thing I have for charging my phone. It just gives me options having both.
