As long as I breathe, I attack.
Good morning,

I bought a pair a few months ago and they seem to have a very small useful operating temperature range. They are very good down at around freezing, but much above and your hands get hot and sweaty really quickly and below that you need more.

Size wise they appear to be Asian sizing, I have a pair of XL, fairly small hands and they only just fit, so I can't use a pair of inners meaning that it is back to the sliced loaf wrapper as an outer glove.

Having said this they are worth the money for me for those few days when it gets this cold.

Bye

Ian

Afternoon all, my first post on here (properly) after emigrating over from the soon to be defunct Bikeradar forum.
It's not what I would deem mega value, but it is imho value for money.

These are shoes with an RRP of £350, currently on offer at the truly excellent Balfe's bikes for only £149.99, but there's a SAVE10 code to knock them down even more, proper bargain to my mind, some 60% off and free postage.
The cheapest I have seen these for before has been around the £200 mark.

Currently available in fairly popular sizes I would say: 37, 39, 42-44.

These are TOP line shoes, and if you want a stealthy all black look (With precious little in the way of branding) like I did, I don't think you can do any better.

Halfords have got a fairly decent deal on KMC chains at the moment, some are better than others.

X11 is about £17, X9 is £10 and the X10 is £19.

Just picked up a couple of 11 speed chains for spares as they are usually around £30 whenever I look and need them.

Cheers Si. Just got 2 x 9sp at £7.88 each with a motoring account discount.

Even at £10 each, it just goes to show that 8 & 9 sp cycling is ridiculously cheap.

Welcome on board Dan and doing your best to bring the CycleChat bargains thread upmarket. I like this as a deal:

https://www.merlincycles.com/reserv...eelset-with-tyres-and-rotors-700c-334674.html

Some really nice Reserve wheels with rotors and GP5000s for a decent price. XDR hub, but changeable as a DT swiss hub (albeit makes it not such a bargain if you need to).

And for the bargain chain discussion - you can even get 12 speed for £10

Just my sort of shoe. Most of mine are black or black. Don't need another carbon road shoe, and TBH I'm mainly in SPD's these days - commuter and CX bike are my mostly used. Goes to see if they have any fancy MTB shoes (in black). What's the fit like ?

Hey @fossyant , they do an MTB version, and I may also have a pair *whistles* but they are not on as good an offer currently at Balfes sadly :-(

Although, having said that if you are a 37, 45, or 47 you can find a pair for £99.99!
45s (SORRY - only just spotted these are actually Road shoes, not MTB)
37 & 47

Frustratingly I am a 44.

The fit is good for me, the toe box is fairly wide - I also have Scott and Mavic shoes, and they size up the same as Scott for me, and slightly bigger than Mavic - ie my Mavic's are 44 1/3rd. In normal shoes, I'm a UK 10.

I'm a 44 Shimano, but the new Shimano are a bit tight on the toe box - XC3's. I have two MW7 winter boots, 1 x RW5 winters and two M-089. Road shoe is a Gaerne and a bit tight on the toe box.

Think they have been here recently - Just received (from Banana Industries) a pair of Willier SPD pedals with ball bearings. A bargain at £9, including cleats. They should be serviceable should it be needed, and only have a tiny bit of roughness (similar to Shimano PD M520's when new) which I don't consider enough of a problem to get the spanners to them (unlike other cheap pedals I've had). Also some Vavert inner tubes at £2.50 were IMHO a bargain. I have no connection to the company other than being a satisfied customer.
